Marco.org: Apple's boring hardware updates →
Marco, on why software is becoming more important than hardware.
marco:
Apple now seemingly considers most Mac hardware updates boring enough to skip any potential press event and just feature the new models on the Apple website for a while. Event-worthy Mac updates are now limited to entirely new products or major redesigns. This makes sense: most people don’t care…

Flickr Adds More Sharing Options For Photos
About damn time. This shows just how far behind the (Yahoo) Flickr team is in terms of features. This should have been available so long ago. Flickr has been stagnant for such a long and yet someone they are still the best in terms of photo sharing. How is this possible?

Blackberry Playbook Won't Have Native... →
But it will be coming in “a later update”. They fail to mention when one can expect such an update. So to access your email, contacts, and calendars you’ll either have to access them:
1. Via your Blackberry (if you have one) in what is called “bridge” mode.
2. Via a web client.
And this is a enterprise device? I’m sorry but Blackberry is no longer king...

Companies Are Still Making These?
And more importantly, people are still buying them?
I guess some could argue that they might be useful. But with the way AirPlay has advanced, who wants to keep their device locked into one location? I for one, prefer to have the device with me so I don’t have to get up to control every time I want to change a track.
Not only that, this device, from JBL will cost $150. An AppleTV...

Consumers Have Spoken: Tablets Don't Need Flash
Yes, consumers have spoken. They have lined up all over the world, waiting hours and in some extreme cases, days, to make sure they get their hands on the worlds most popular tablet. It happened here in the U.S. and we saw a similar scenarios last week during international launch. I even had a colleague tell me today that she waited in line for two hours this weekend at the largest Apple...

SellYourMac.Com
I heard about SellYourMac.com through my daily internet readings and wasn’t sure what to think about it. What I had heard was good things but I couldn’t understand how they could really make a profit out of harvesting old Apple products. Apparently they do make a profit, and do it well.
I had an old Powerbook G4 that I had bought in early 2004 that had a display issue. See...

Can People Really Still Argue That Android Is...
Not only that, but where exactly is Android going?
In an article yesterday by Businesweek, Andy Rubin, the person in charge of Android’s software development, said some pretty crazy things if you ask me. The main thing being that the source code for the software would not be made available for public use just yet:
“Google says it will delay the distribution of its newest Android...

We have no idea if it will even work on phones.
– Google’s Andy Rubin, VP of Engineering at Google who oversees the development of the Android, speaking about the latest release of the platform: Honeycomb.

More on this later.
The video, it was pixilated and juddery, so we had to disconnect and start...
– From an end user at work who had problem with their video call today.
Juddery? Really? Would you mind explaining juddery??? Haha

iMovie For iPad Will Only Accept Files From Other... →
Namely iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th Gen, and of course, iPad 2. Kinda weak if you ask me. I found this out first hand when trying to use footage from an Android phone in iMovie. I wasted several hours trying to convert the video to a format I thought might take. No dice. It won’t even take and MP4 encoded from another format via the PC version of iMovie.

Technology In Music: DJ Shadow
I’ve been meaning to do this post for a WHILE and am happy to finally get to it!
I’m a huge fan of music of all types and when a band, DJ, or performer that I’m even vaguely interested in comes into Boston, I do my best to attend. I’m very critical during most shows. I like to be rocked. I’m paying to see a performance and I expect to get my money’s...

My Take On Android
So where do I start? If you’ve followed me for a least a little while you know my deal:
I’m a huge fan of Apple products and an iPhone user of many years. At the same time, I’m a big fan of gadgets and technology in general. Not only is technology a passion of mine, but I work in an environment where I use this stuff every day. Throughout my professional career I somehow...

On This Hubbub About Android Browser Vs. iOS...
So yesterday the internet was abuzz with a report from some company trying to make a name for itself that claimed they had done hundreds of speed tests using an Android phone and an iPhone and that the Android phone was 50% faster at loading web pages.
It was then discovered that the report was flawed due to improper testing methods and rightly so, made the company look like complete idiots....

FCC Going After Cell Phone Jammers
A cell phone jammer is a pretty simple device. Turn it on and depending on how good it is, it shuts down all cell and GPS service within a certain distance of the device. They are fairly easy to get, just a simple Google search and you’re well on your way. They are also for the most part, not very expensive for what havoc they can cause. Click through to find out why the FCC cracking down on...

Researchers Create Microscopic Disposable Camera... →
Pretty damn cool. What is really interesting is how they are manufactured.
“The new tiny shooters, which sport a 250 x 250 pixel resolution, are created using a streamlined process in which the lens and sensor wafers are affixed before being cut into a series of 28,000 little cameras — eliminating the need to mount and wire each one individually.”
