How Old Town Trolley Tours Boston Humiliated Me...
I don’t normally use my blog to vent about things like this, but I’m livid right now.  I got into a car accident this morning.  No one was hurt thankfully.  But we all know how awful it is to get into a car accident don’t we?  It’s just an awful experience no matter the extent of the damage.  But what happened after the accident made it ten times worse, and I have Old Town...

Boy Genius Reporting That RIM Only Has One New... →
With that said, we also exclusively reported that RIM might only launch one device at BlackBerry World, as opposed to previewing and demoing the company’s 7-device lineup for 2011. If this is true, you can add another nail to RIMS’s coffin.

Video Chat On Your Android Phone
Google announced today that they are bringing Google Talk with video support to Android phones.  A few notes: Android has followed Apple’s lead in showing what is clearly not a true representation of what the video quality will look like: Theres no way in hell the video can look that good.  But again, Apple has done this too in their ads.  I don’t know if they made the quality look...

The Beastie Boys Understand The Reach Of Non Flash...
The Beastie Boys, one of my all time favorite hip hop groups, understand technology quite well.   Several weeks ago I wrote a post about a band that had created an entire album on an iPad 2.  I thought the idea was great but when I visited their site I was disappointed to see that the method to play their album on their home page required Flash.   Why create an entire album on a non Flash...

Motorola Xoom Upgrade To 4G LTE Delayed "Until... →
Jha was a little vague about what the “issue” was that is causing the delay, only that whatever quality concern there is applies to both devices, and it could simply be that the company is waiting for its LTE rollout to get a little further along. I had a feeling this would happen.  This upgrade is starting to sound like the HTC Thunderbolt launch.  My guess the delay is due to the...

What's Wrong With This Picture?
So if you are even somewhat familiar with computers, it should be easy to tell what is wrong with this picture.  This is an Apple iMac but technically it’s not.  Why?  Because it has Windows installed on it.  It breaks my heart to see something like this but I understand why this has to be.   You see, this is a hotel business center.  If you don’t travel or go to hotels much, a...

Blackberry Playbook Browser Follow Up: It's Still...
Sometimes having Flash is almost the same as not having Flash. If it’s between bad performance or nothing, I think I might take nothing.

Another Challenger Enters The Tablet Game (Maybe,...
Sony is the most recent company to jump into the tablet game, announcing not one, but two Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets. One will be a 9.4 inch tablet while the other (shudder) is yes, a dual screen device with two 5.5 inch displays. Before I go any further I need to ask, what is the point of these dual screen devices? I know there are only a few out there right now, but from what I’ve...

The Typewriter Is No More →
It had a good run of roughly 141 years. I was always a big fan of the sound a typewrite made as well as the feeling of using one, although the last time I used one was many years ago.

Android Gripes: Re-think the four hardware buttons... →
Another good post from Android Gripes: android-gripes: The gripe about Android’s four hardware buttons has come to me on the first day I started using it. They are unnecessary, they are confusing, they are ugly, they take space, they cause users making mistakes… they should be remade. Previously people have discussed about the button layout…

Blackberry Playbook Browser Video Review: Yikes...
It’s REALLY bad. Do you think there is an update coming for it along with the update bringing email, contacts, and calendars? I feel like half of the functionality that SHOULD be on this device is “coming soon in and update”.

Blackberry Playbook: Quick Notes Day One
So I picked up a Blackberry Playbook yesterday and I’ve spent a good amount of time with it this morning.  Here are some quick notes before I film a full on video review. The hardware is GREAT.  Solid device for sure.  Feels pretty good in the hands.  The one thing I’ve noticed is the battery can get pretty hot but it’s not so bad. Battery life seems (so far) to be right on par...

BlackBerry Bridge Not Available For PlayBook Users... →
So to get email, contacts, and calendar on a Playbook, you need to use a Blackberry phone along with this Blackberry Bridge technology.  But AT&T is blocking access to the app you need on your phone to make this all work.  Add this to the ever growing list of reasons why RIM has pooched this launch.  This is some device I’ll tell ya! via: Engadget

Poor Xoom Sales Force iPad Competitors To Delay... →
Some juicy quotes here: Google has been “unable to offer sufficient support” for its partners with regards to Android 3.0. Issues with the tablet-centric mobile operating system have allegedly forced manufacturers to delay the launch of Honeycomb-powered devices. Delay away, you’ll need to in order to compete.  Xoom was clearly rushed. Problems cited by sources in Taiwan...

iPad 2 Mirroring: I Stand Corrected
I wrote a post near the time the iPad 2 launch about video out mirroring and how it was my favorite new feature on the device.  I was under the impression that the only way to mirror everything, apps, video, homescreen etc., was to use the Apple HDMI adapter rather than the VGA adapter released with the original iPad.  In that thinking I thought it would be difficult for business users to use...

On A Corporate Level, The Blackberry Playbook Is...
Sad too, because it’s not even out yet. How do I know it’s dead on the corporate level?  Just from walking through the hallways of my office.  What’s good for RIM is that I hear LOTS of people talking about the Blackberry brand today.  What’s bad is that none of the talk is positive in any way, shape, or form.   Most of the talk is about the lack of integrated email and...

Another Strange Looking, Overpriced, Apple Dock... →
I don’t know about you but I would never pay $350 for this thing.  Too big to be an alarm clock.  When will these companies get it that Airplay is all about being able to cut the cord and NOT have your speaker tethered to your device that is playing the audio?  So why have the dock at all?  Take that away and this thing is smaller and maybe cheaper and then maybe I’d buy it.
